Laberge Wins At Folsom

2017 Folsom Winter Criterium: Master's 45+ 1/2/3

Peet's Coffee Racing LogoFor the second year in a row, the boys from Peet’s Coffee Racing made their presence known during the 2017 Folsom Winter Criterium 45+ 1/2/3 race. Right from the start, Peet’s attacked the field. First with Master’s National Road Champion Nick Theobald. Then Master’s World Time Trial Champion, Dan Bryant of Peet’s Coffee went on a solo attack, to be later joined by teammate Michael Orourke and Michael Sayers of Craft Factory Cycling. The three racers worked together for a good chunk of the race, forcing the field to work hard to reel them back in.

With less than two laps to go the field was all together. So we were in for a bunch sprint. As the field entered the final lap, the Peet’s lead out train was forming up front for team sprinter Dean Laberge, a former Master’s National Criterium Champion. As they exited the final turn, Peet’s was in great position for the win with final lead out rider Michael Orourke and Laberge on the front. Laberge pulled away with a strong push, followed by Orourke in 2nd. Nice way for Peet’s Coffee Racing to start the year and back to back season opening wins for Dean Laberge.
